November Outfits

Tuesday, November 11, 2014

Hello everyone :) I have a couple of outfits this month  to show you guys and I hope you like em!

Outfit #1: Oversized cardigan

I've been seeing these huge cardigans around lately and have been wanting one - they just look so COZY and perfect to bum around in

I got mine at Aeropostale for $4(!!!) and it has this beautiful crazy knit pattern. It hits the back of my knees and feels like a blanket with sleeves haha

I wore it with a cropped black swing tank from h&m ($1) and my navy high waisted skinnies from Aero as well ($15) I tried to make my outfit very plain so the cardigan could really pop!
Outfit #2: Sleek Black

I wore this outfit to an event because I didn't feel like going all out in a dress and strappy heels. I'm wearing this super soft fuzzy sweater from JCPenney ($8). Unfortunately I accidently put it in the dryer and it basically just melted and my heart broke :'(

I wore it with the same skinnies as before, along with these simple black booties from JCPenney as well ($20).

Outfit #3: Fun in the Sun

Literally, the last nice and warm day of the fall season.. before we are tortured with months of coldness and gray skies.

-cotton on cardigan - $11
-hollister white tank
-billabong pants - $9
These pants are really light and airy and they're sooo perfect for just lounging around. Gives a really laid back and cali vibe
-old navy flip flops
-brandy melville john galt backpack

October Outfits

Monday, October 20, 2014

Hello Lovelaysss! Back with some more outfits I wore this week in October! There were some unusually warm days which called for spontaneously cute outfits :) Enjoy!

Outfit #1: Classy + Casual

It was pleasantly warm this day so I decided to bring back out my dresses.
I have on a light denim wash dress from h&m ($10) and threw a sweater over it from Brandy melville ($9) to stay warmer.
I paired this outfit with my brand new pair of flats from American Eagle ($15) They're pointed dorsays with a metallic gold tip and I can't wait to get more wear out of them next spring

Outfit #2: A feminine touch

I've been wearing a lot of neutral colors this semester, and I think it's cause I finally realized how ridiculous I looked when I would try to wear crazy colors and patterns back in high school. Sometimes it's just nice to look simple.

Cotton on cardigan - $11
Aeropostale lace tunic - $9
Gap leggings - these babies are SUPER thick and I wear them to death. I suggest investing in a good pair of leggings instead of those cheap see-through ones.
American eagle combat boots

Outfit # 3: Business Casual

Just decided to dress up more maturely for the hell of it and wanted to experiment with layering.

White tank top
American eagle dress shirt
F21 boucle blazer - $8
Gap leggings

I'll try to remember wearing shoes in my outfits.. I'm just really used to walking around barefoot haha #asiansincollege

and please excuse these awkward mirror selfies! I have no other way of getting a quick picture in and my mirror is stupidly narrow -_-

So besides all of that, I hoped you guys enjoyed! Until next time

Banquet OOTD

Wednesday, October 15, 2014

Hello everyone! Last night was my organization's biggest event of the semester, our annual Banquet! This year we decided to do a Christmas in October themed, so the whole room was decked out in holly jolly goodness. We always have a photo booth station and all worked pretty darn hard setting it up. It turned out to be such a great night and successful event! YAY

I curled my hair trying to look nice and all but it obviously just fell FLAT halfway through the event LOL. But I look surprisingly tan here which makes me happy because I worked hard for it over the summer!
Now.. OOTD time with my friend Jeanne :)

h&m lace dress - $5
features a high lace neck line and it's super tight, but not too short! which is the problem with a lot of dresses lately at f21 and h&m, etc

thrifted Steve madden heels - $25
Were pretty much new when I found them! I got them at beacon's closet by Union Sq. so definitely check that place out. They are pointed toe and have a thick velcro ankle strap. What I like about these the most is they're not that high, which doesn't make me look like a giant considering I'm already 5'6"

Aaaaand that's about it :) hohoho

DUMBO Arts Festival 2014

Saturday, September 27, 2014

Hello Lovelies! I'm back in the city and was super excited to find out that the Dumbo Arts Festival was going on while I'm on break! YAY

The streets were filled with a bunch of cool art displays, performers and tabling for activities and goodies. We were also able to get our faces painted for free!! I got my makeup done and asked her to match it with my dress while Kevin decided to do a little quirky pineapple that ended up looking like a skin disease HAH

OOTD Time!
me posing with my cookie ^_^

h&m dress - $7
gladiators - $5

Some other freebies we snagged! These cool social media cookies (which tasted AMAZING btw) and I even got a free manicure which is pretty crazy. She did these cute retro daisies that really pop!

One of the interactive art exhibits. This is what we ended up with. Our own tiles by the Brooklyn Bridge. Pretty neat :)

Would definitely check out next year's too!

Hello Lovelies! I'm pretty excited for this new semester and have been keeping myself pretty busy. The weather is still nice and I'm trying to enjoy it while it lasts and here are a couple of outfits that I have worn in this week!
Outfit # 1: A very casual, cute outfit for those warm but windy days.

This super slouchy sweater is the perfect casual piece to throw on and still look good
- Brandy Melville skirt - $9
A light, airty skirt in a delicate blue color. One of the very few skirts I own but I adore it

Outfit #2: Some serious Fall color blocking going on
- Target Mossimo v neck sweater - $5
It's in this lovely mustard shade that reminds me of Winnie the Pooh

- F21 Studded booties - $20

Outfit #3: Cute & Playful
- Ebay wire headband - $2
- Aero hoodie - $3
- American Eagle shorts - $10

Summer Streets

Saturday, August 16, 2014

Finally went out to Summer Streets and luckily caught it on the last day this year! Even though being awake at this hour on a saturday morning was a pain in the butt (the event ran from 7am -1pm) it was refreshing to get going early on. This was taken on the huge line we waited on for FREE HELMETS!! YEAH.

jacket - $7 aeropostale
yoga shorts - $8 target
sports bra - $13 tj maxx
sneakers - nike

After getting our helmets, we got our citi bikes because we couldn't find the free bike rentals, but they were probably all gone anyway. A really nice traffic guard just gave me one for free and he was so sweet!! So I got to ride around on this baby all day without redocking heheh. There was a lot of free food but we didn't want to wait on the lines and we wanted to get on the road already and it was so COOL. The street is huge and just cruising down with all the buildings by the sides was so much fun. Just imagine NYC with just bicycles - so freakin' swag. I'm definitely going to be coming back next year and hopefully getting there earlier!

My boyfriend being a dingus on the Brooklyn Bridge.
We rode all the way down to the last rest stop and went on the bridge which was EXCITING cause I've never crossed it before! Being on the bike, you realize how annoying pedestrians are and it was so crowded on that damned bridge. Afterwards, we just cruised along the empty streets with the brownstones and the Brooklyn Bridge park.

$7 and it's from Zara!

We passed by a house having a "stoop" sale and even though my dummy boyfriend didn't want to stop by and check it out OF COURSE WE DID cause he owed me puahaha. They had such cool stuff for sale but I just picked up this bombass sweater that's going to be perfect for back to school. It's like a mix between a poncho, rug, and ugly christmas sweater BUT I LOVE IT.

The Whitney

Friday, August 15, 2014
Cool sculpture we passed by while walking to the museum!

peep us in da mirror

I decided to take my boyfran to the Whitney Museum of American Art cause they have pay what you wish nights Fridays from 6-9pm. The line was soooo long, winding all the way down the block, but the wait was quick ~30 min. It's originally $16 for students but we ended up getting in there for just $1 for both of us! (cheap asses hahah) The lady gave us a weird tone but we're broke college students so C'MON. We were only interested in the Jeff Koons exhibit and his work is really vibrant and fun to look at. So check it out on Friday nights! I don't think I would shell out the $$ any other day.

OOTD time! (I'm really digging the all-white look for the summer) :D
linen shirt - club monaco (hand me down)
tank top - $4 hollister
shorts - $10 american eagle
tennis shoes - $12 payless

Mad Decent Block Party 2014 (Brooklyn)

Saturday, August 9, 2014

Introducing my favorite people in the world!! All of my high school friends (along with Mo haha) decided to get our asses to Coney Island for Mad Decent. Even though it was a bit pricey and the event was HORRIBLY horribly horribly organized I'm glad I got to spend today with these beautiful people. I kinda wished it was bit more ghetto and ratchet, especially after all the hype of this being the hugest ratchetfest ever. Please take note of the sign we made with our blood, sweat and tears and we had to sadly discard it at the end cause it was breaking hahah

bralette - $2 h&m
high waisted shorts - $10 forever21
rose headband - urban outfitters
I got those little rhinestones on our faces for $1 at target btw :) WHAT A STEAL.

Just some of the polaroids we snapped before heading out. It was so much fun getting ready and we ended up getting there so much later than we had planned.

My boyfriend got me a polaroid for our 1 year anniversary!! It's the Fujifilm insta mix 8 and it's in the CUTEST shade of pastel yellow and I'm soooo excited to use it. I honestly think any girl would love this as a present, it's just one of those things. And i took a few pictures already and decorated them with cute stickers that I've hoarded since when I was a child and now I can finally put them to use. YAY

Concrete Jungle + mini Uniqlo haul

After getting our takeout from the Thai place, Mo took me across the street to this really serene seating area with this freaking waterfall at the end!! It's pretty loud but it is literally the perfect place to chill/eat/read. It's around 51st st/Lexington and there are a bunch of cool looking restaurants around the area too.

After a little shopping at Uniqlo, we went to FAO Scharwz and fooled around in there. There are so many useless cool toys to look at in there and it's almost like a museum. You can also play in the big piano upstairs!! And this is ma outfit for the night, taken at the fountain right outside by the Apple store.

swing tank top - $1 h&m (wrapp coupon!)
crazy pants - $10 pacsun
gladiator sandals - $5 random mall store
backpack - $25 forever21

And here is my mini haul from the 5th ave Uniqlo! I was never really into Uniqlo back in high school, but I LOVE their clothes now. I think it was a bit too mature for me back then, but now I'm getting really into basics and more classic pieces that will stay in my wardrobe for a while. Also, their sales are AMAZING. On top of that, my boyfriend gets a 30% employee discount which he loves sharing with me heheh
I got a baby blue pair of cropped legging pants, originally $20, for $6!! Freaking insane. Along with the 30% off it came out to around $4. The material is super soft and it'll be perfect for the summer.

I also got this taupe 100% silk blouse, originally $50 for $13, with the discount it became $9. NINE. And this blouse fits beautifully, the material just sits on my skin effortlessly and it looks SO GOOD. And even without the employee discount they're still such a great freakin' deal.

YES. GET ON THIS STUFF RIGHT NOW.

Summer City Nights

Saturday, July 26, 2014

Hung out with my favorite people in the city today. Somehow the day was blessed with the perfect summer weather - breezy yet warm and cozy. We all ate at a Filipino place (first time) and went to hookah afterwards (first time too!!) A night of firsts hahah

But it doesn't even matter what we do, I always have the most fun with these guys. For once we're actually hanging out and talking throughout the summer because we usually just do our own thing and focus on summer jobs/bumming out. Cheers for days like this for the rest of the summer!

Brooklyn Bridge

Tuesday, July 22, 2014

A casual date at the Brooklyn Bridge. I always find myself coming here for some reason, and I always discover something new about this place. There was a outdoor pool along the way that I really wanted to check out but the ocean will have to do for today. Also there are so many places to eat around here that I have yet to try (Luke's Lobsters!!) AND I haven't tried the free kayaking here. Basically, endless things to do here and will always have you coming back.
P.S. my top says "I'm actually a mermaid" ;)

Mini Golf Date

Monday, July 21, 2014

Enjoyed a lovely mini-golfing date at Pier 26, which I highly recommend! Not only is it a great cheap ($5) date idea, a lot of families were here too so it's fun for everyone. The lines weren't long at all and overall a fun little golf course. The surrounding park and water is also beautiful and it's the perfect place to relax. And this Pier was right by me and my boyfriend's old high school and I CANNOT believe that I never went here before, which is such a shame. Walking around the neighborhood was so nostalgic for the both of us and we'll definitely be coming back!

Museum of Moving Image

Friday, June 20, 2014

The Museum of Moving Image offers free admission after 4 pm and it was such a surprisingly fun date idea! The place wasn't as crowded as I thought it'd be so we were able to look at all the exhibits without waiting or anything. The place is decent sized, three floors filled with a bunch of stuff to goof around on.

In the surrounding area there are a bunch of places to shop and eat and it's close by the train station so there's tons of time to kill until the free admission hour. Overall, a great place to hang around, especially since it was free!

BUBBLE BATTLE NYC

Sunday, June 15, 2014

Me and my friends decided to check out the Bubble Battle at Union Sq. and see what all the fuss was about. We got there late cause we did a little shopping at Beacon's Closet nearby (where I snagged brand new Steve Madden heels for $25!) and as we approached the crowd it seemed a little underwhelming. Just a bunch of people blowing bubbles...

But as we stood around we noticed all the little bubbles floating literally everywhere you saw, and the sight was so mystical against the surrounding buildings. It was hard capturing the bubbles on camera, so you have to be there in person to see it. There were a bunch of kiddies with those bubble guns and it was just nice seeing everyone have a good time- cause then again, who doesn't love bubbles?!

crop top - f21 $8
high waisted shorts - hollister $20

Museum of Sex

Tuesday, June 10, 2014

MoSex being on my list of Places to Go for a while, I'm glad we finally got to go. At the entrance they have their gift shops and they have a lot of cool sexy stuff to look through. The admission price was pretty steep, so look out for promotions or groupons. When we went, one of them was closed so that was a bummer even though we did get a bit of a discount. The overall exhibits were really interesting (Linda Lovelace exhibit) and who doesn't like raunchy art? But the place was small and it didn't seem worth the money we paid.

Downstairs where the bathrooms there was a random room filled with cool looking chairs so me and Mo started taking stupid pictures heheh ALSO there are free condoms! So yipeee
